Met League Saturday 15th November 2025 Season Race Report

Race 2: Horsenden Hill

Racing continued in the 2025 Met League on Saturday 15th November at Horsenden Hill.

Representing the club in the first race of the day was Henry Bostock (18th) in the U11 boys, followed by Missy Steel (21st) and Becky Maiden (24th) in the U11 girls.

Josh Maiden (1st) continued his dominance in the U13 boys race leading the team home to another second place finish, along with Thomas Summers (14th), Zephyr Macalister (16th) and Henry Wakefield (20th). The U13 boys team currently sit in a strong 2nd place in the team table, backing up their excellent team performance at the Mansfield Relays recently.

In the junior boys, consistency in training for Sean Mazur (11th) is paying off, with Freddie Hollings-Yates (20th), Alexander Shoesmith (31st) and Jake Whitaker (39th) completing the first scoring team, finishing a credible 4th team overall.

The junior girls continue to develop their strength and depth this year with Cora Naylor (3th) running to an excellent podium finish, followed by Penny Field (22nd), Hazel Spitzer (26th) and Jess Lane (29th) as the scoring team, also 4th team overall.

In the senior races Ellie Mason was once again the sole representative for the senior women. The senior men were led home by John Eves running an excellent race placing 9th and again first veteran finisher. The squad was a slightly diminished 7 in total due to several team members being called to represent Hertfordshire and England on the same day – congratulations to all those running elsewhere.

Thank you to all the athletes, parents and coaches for support on the day and as the Met League progresses this season.  Next race is at Wormwood Scrubs on 6th December 2025.
