NATIONAL ATHLETIC LEAGUE MATCH 1 CHELMSFORD MAY 31st
Women’s Match Report

Herts Phoenix finished in an excellent 2nd place in the first National Athletic League match of the season. The women won the female competition with the men finishing in 2nd place. The competition was incredibly strong but the team had some excellent results with several PBs achieved in both the track and the field. Every single athlete who competed played a very important part in putting the team in a strong position in the league.

The teams competing against Herts Phoenix were Chelmsford, Blackheath & Bromley, Havering, Belgrave Harriers and Herne Hill Harriers. Two of these teams were in the Premiership division last season.

It was so good to see so many athletes there filling every single womens event and that is a large part of why the team did so well. The team needed every one of you. So a BIG THANKYOU !

There were some individual PBs achieved which is always good to see early season and there will be many more as the season progresses.

A String first places were achieved by Eloise Higgins in the Javelin and Shannon Rappachi in the pole vault.

B string firsts were achieved by Khai Mhlanga in the 400m where Lauren Rule achieved a second place and seasons best in the A string race. Aimie Taylor in the pole vault and Amelie Horn in the triple jump where Eloise Harvey secured second spot in the A string.

The team in event order were Libby Taylor, Andrea Jenkins, Eloise Harvey, Aby Tobin, Louise Grenfell, Laura Armorgie, Eleanor Mason, Sophie Segun, Serena Thomas, Ena Olivier, Amelie Horn, Grace Mason, Lauren Rule, Khahisa Mhlanga, Shannon Rapacchi, Aimie Taylor, Eloise Higgins, Sally Judd, Emiline Brown, Tabitha Woodhouse, Lottie Rowedder and Niamh Smith.

There are 2 more matches before the promotion final in August. We need full team turnouts to achieve a 1st or second place to secure our place in the final and a chance to be promoted to Premiership competition.

 Herts Phoenix has never been in a better position to gain promotion to premiership but we need all athletes competing from all disciplines at each match to achieve this.
