Race Report

South of England 3/4/6 stage Relay Championships

Aldershot Arena - Saturday 20th September 2025

A number of the Club’s endurance athletes had a very enjoyable and successful day when representing their Club at  the South of England relay championships on Saturday.

 

Under 13 Boys – 3 x 3000 metres

 1st leg was run by  Zephyr MacAlister in 11.25.51 in 42nd place and handed over to  Joshua Maiden who ran well in overtaking many other athletes to finish in 10.08.35 to bring the team up to 14th place before handing over to Thomas Summers who ran 11.50.89 to finish in 22nd place out of the 76 teams that completed the race.

Under 15 Boys – 3 x 3000 metres

Jake Summers completed the first leg in an excellent time of 8.55.58 to bring the Club home in first place before handing over to Jack Wright who maintained this position to complete the second leg in 9.44.65 and handed over to Alban Wadley who ran 10.36.24 to bring the team home in 8th place overall out of the 91 teams taking part in the race.

Senior Women – 4 x 6000 metres

First leg runner, Harriet Kealy completed her run in 30th place in 22.20.30 before handing over to Keira Shaw, who ran 21.52.20 for the second leg and brought the team up to 11th place, before handing over to Khahisa Mhlanga who ran 21.07.43 to move up 4 places to 7th and then Annabel Gummow ran the 4th leg in 20.38.29 to complete that race in 6th place overall of 61 clubs

Senior Men “A” Team – 6 x 6000 metres

Ethan Primett completed the first leg in 18.16.98 to finish in 11th place before handing over to Caleb O’Neill who ran 19.00.95 to finish 10th, and handed over to Luke Dunham who ran 18.14.40 to bring the club up to 8th place, Oscar Bell then took over and ran one of the fastest individual times of the day, 17.30.35 to put the Club in first place overall, before handing over to Sam Pedley who ran 19.17.77 to finish in 5th place before handing over to John Eves for the 6th leg, run in 19:23.39 and finished in 10th place overall out of the 113 team that finished the race

Total overall time 1 hour 51 mins 43.82 secs

Senior Men “B” Team – 6 x 6000 metres

George Ward ran the 1st leg which he completed in 29th place in a time of 18.52.55 before handing over to Ben Murphy who ran 19.13.66 to move the Club up one place to 28th, and then handed over to Mayank Mishra who ran 20:38.39 to finish in 40th place, and then James Threlfall ran the 4th leg in 20.21.89 to finish in 41st place before handing over to Martin O’Neill who completed his leg in 22.23.31 to finish in 49th place and the final leg was run by Cameron Lock in 24.02.38 finishing in 56th place out of the 113 teams.
